Celebrating Indiana's Commitment to Trees with Governor Braun
We were thrilled to join GSGP Vice Chair Indiana Governor Mike Braun to plant a Shumard oak tree in beautiful Summit Lake State! Governor Braun shared his knowledge about trees and spoke about Indiana's commitment to the Great Lakes Trees Initiative. Already in 2026, more than 24,400 trees have been planted on Indiana Department of Natural Resources lands.
“This initiative reflects our shared commitment to protect and enhance our natural resources,” said Governor Braun. “By working together with our regional partners, we are investing in healthier communities and a stronger environment for our state and for future generations.”
